Actemium and SIAAP: Green Energy from Grey Water

Last October, Veolia and SIAAP, the public authotiry responsible for wastewater treatment in the Paris region, inaugurated the largest biomethane production unit in France, derived from wastewater treatment.

Actemium Paris Energie Eau Environnement teams proudly participated in this large-scale project by carrying out electrical, instrumentation, and automation installations. By transforming wastewater into green energy, the SIAAP production unit actively contributes to the energy autonomy of territories by producing 45 GWh of decarbonized energy per year.

This energy is injected into the GRDF network and will represent the annual consumption of more than 10,000 households. Thus, the equivalent of 9,000 tons of CO2 emissions will be avoided each year!

A big congratulations to the teams for their expertise in this ambitious project for the circular economy, at the heart of Actemium’s commitments to decarbonizing industry and preserving resources.
