Actemium’s International Network Serving Saint-Gobain Formula

Saint-Gobain is a worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction and is present in 76 countries. Saint-Gobain Formula is dedicated to supply high-performance industrial plaster and gypsum products. The company provides bespoke, long-lasting and high-quality solutions.

In order to modernise and develop its production site, Saint-Gobain Formula called upon Actemium Saint-Etienne Process Solutions to define together a cutting-edge, scalable solution which can handle a broad range of products. The SOFRADEN mixer equipped with CIP (Clean In Place) technology lies at the heart of the process and avoids cross-contamination between product categories.

Genesis of the project

Having worked closely with the customer since September 2023 to fully grasp their needs, the first meetings took place in December 2023 to analyse the specific requirements of the site.

Specifications taken into consideration by Actemium not only included the manufacturing of a broad spectrum of products, but also the handling of explosive materials (ATEX directives) as well as environmental requirements inherent to such a construction.

Actemium Saint Etienne Process Solutions also brought Actemium Nottingham on-board to provide local know-how, rapid response time and quality follow-up.

Working in collaboration with Actemium Nottingham maximises geographical proximity with the customer and helps provide reassurance as to our expertise, reactivity and close long-term partnership

explains the Actemium sales manager in charge of the project.

The solution in a nutshell

The new mixing plant is directly linked up to the existing factory in Newark-on-Trent. This tower will eventually house three production lines. A further feature is that the production unit will be connected to five different packing systems.

The complex solution developed by Actemium relies on close collaboration with local sub-contractors and engineers from the design of the structure to complete on-site assembly, including electric cabling as well as health & safety management.

The production facility will be piloted and controlled by the “Prodose” production management software developed by Courbon Software, another Actemium subsidiary.
