Actemium’s Propulsion Refit on the Polarfront vessel

Actemium Marine has been involved in the transformation of the Polarfront, a former Norwegian meteorological vessel turned into a 54m polar expedition yacht, destined for cruises in the Arctic, Norway, Greenland, and Spitsbergen.

Actemium’s teams carried out a significant refit on the propulsion system, replacing the diesel propulsion with hybrid electric.

This transformation can result in up to 40% diesel consumption reduction, thereby reducing CO2 emissions.

Actemium also designed, manufactured, and installed the propulsion cabinets, the main 400V switchboard, and replaced the alarm system.

This project demonstrates once again Actemium’s expertise in the modernisation and energy optimisation of vessels, with more ecofriendly and efficient solutions.
