Putting Porsche in charge: how Actemium is helping the automobile manufacturer to hit its electrification target

Porsche is an acknowledged industry leader in the drive towards vehicle electrification and has undertaken a highly responsive decentralised maintenance agreement with Actemium UK and Axians Germany to support its UK dealer network of ultra-fast EV battery chargers.

Setting the target

The flexibility of the VINCI group structure has enabled us to make a positive response to Porsche’s request for a decentralised maintenance process for its ultra-fast Electric Vehicle (EV) battery-charging network across the UK.

Porsche was an early pioneer in electric mobility, entering the field in 2015, and has set an ambitious target of having at least 80% of its new cars fully electrified by 2030. The company has identified the establishment of a comprehensive charging infrastructure as a key component in achieving its electrification target.

Building on experience

Since 2021, Actemium UK has commissioned and maintained a network of ultra-fast EV chargers installed in 40 Porsche dealerships across the UK, working in a twinning agreement with Omexom Germany. The chargers deployed are ADS-TEC’s innovative battery-buffered 320kW ChargeBox products.

In response to Porsche’s preference for a decentralised maintenance programme, Actemium UK is now working directly with the Porsche UK dealerships, with first-level error filtering and notification support provided by Axians Germany.

“Actemium UK is able to draw upon our experience of having commissioned and maintained – and in some cases installed – Porsche’s UK network of EV chargers since 2021,” notes Christine NASR, Maintenance Sector Manager of Actemium COVENTRY.

Under the new agreement, we can ensure a prompt and efficient maintenance response to any UK Porsche dealership as soon as Axians raises an error notification.

Under the contract, Actemium also supports the EV charging infrastructure in Porsche’s unique flagship Le Mans Experience Center, where visitors can draw on the company’s 75-year association with the legendary 24-hour French racing circuit to test-drive a range of Porsche vehicles in realistic race conditions.

Environmental sustainability

Electric transformation is the biggest challenge faced by the motor industry in its long history. The new generation of high-performance Porsche all-electric vehicles will be able to charge from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes thanks to new 800-volt charging technology.

confirms Christine NASR.

“Supported by a robust network of ultra-fast chargers, the new Taycan and all-electric Macan Porsche vehicles are making a major contribution to environmental sustainability, one of the the most important responsibilities of our time. It’s everyone’s job to protect the world for future generations, and Actemium UK is proud to be playing its part.
